1988 again
The Cure, who are playing the Sasquatch Festival this year, have a new (double?) album set to release on September 13. The, thus far untitled, album will be their 13th studio effort. Three Imaginary Girls, appropriately have the details. Apparently an official announcement will be made by Universal on Monday.
Also pretty cool, is the fact that they will release a single on the 13th of each month until the album comes out. I've heard that they have a large collection of new songs to choose from, so expect a non album track on each single.
Also set to release, is a new song from The Jesus and Mary Chain. According to the NME they've contributed a track called "All Things Must Pass" to the Heroes Soundtrack which will be out on May 5th.
You can hear a very short snippet of the song in their music player
Sounds like JAMC have been working on a new album as well. I guess that would explain the smattering of shows that they've played lately.
And last but certainly not least, Kevin Haskins, drummer for Bauhaus and Love and Rockets, had a chat with Jim Beckman of local Seattle radio station KEXP.
Check out the interview here. They discuss the new (and final?) Bauhaus album, "Go Away White", released 25 years after their initial break up.
Haskins will be at the Coachella to play the outdoor theater on Sunday with Love and Rockets.
